What Makes Heart Centred Therapy Unique
Heart Centred Therapy is concerned with helping you to recognize that your life is an unfolding spiritual process rather than a deliberate construction process that focusses on goals and periodic purges of problematic content. Heart Centred Therapy is not about sculpting the life that you want. It is about feeling, understanding and appreciating the life you are having. Life is not a manufactured construct. It is what it is and you can work with it by working with yourself.
What I do is use mindfulness, loving presence and creativity to help you fully feel and understand the life you are experiencing. In this process you invariably identify "problems" and I help you to uncover and acknowledge the feelings and body-mind sensations around these "problems." I help you practice staying in the moment, holding these feelings and sensations with awareness to better understand them and the difficulties they present to you. In so holding your feelings and experiencing them deeply you are more fully present for your "self" and better able to free personal energy that might otherwise be "stuck" in patterns of hurt, blame or bewilderment that keep you cycling through patterns. Better self-understanding and appreciating the issues that cause you difficulty will help enable you to rise above the traps that ensnare you, so you can more fully realize your true self. This is a result of awakening.
Heart Centred Therapy can guide you toward an experiencing of what you feel, experiencing where in your body hurt resides, and experiencing how release from hurt might be possible. The process allows you to strengthen your capacity to hold more of your 'self ' in an open, loving state of kindness. Once you begin a self-reflection process, you will no longer amble along in an unconscious, habitual response to people, events and behaviours that don't advance your understanding of self and other. Instead, you will begin to create space enough to recognize that your feelings and sensations are working with you. You will realize that you have freedom of choice. Imagine speaking what needs to be said, doing what needs to be done, all the while remaining centred, living in your true being, behaving consciously rather than reacting unconsciously to a script written by your past personal history and accepted by an undiscriminating and egoic self.
